*Qualities of a True believer*
1. Believer of Allah Almighty
A true believer or Mumin is such person who believes in Allah Almighty and declares no assistant with Him on everything. We have seen many people saying and believing in Allah Almighty fully yet whenever they are in trouble they seek help from others. This is, in fact, Shirk that people mostly used to do. A true believer or Mumin turns only to Allah Almighty for help and demands only from Him.
2. A believer is the one who gives charity from the little he has.
Allah Almighty underlined in the Quran the attributes of those who deserve to be called true believers, as Allah says in Noble Quran:
“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely.
The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees (of high position) with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision.”
(Quran, 8:2-4)
2. A believer is the one who fears Allah Openly and secretly.
He never wants to offend Allah in anyway.
3. A believer Strictly Guard his Obligatory Prayers
A true believer does not only observe the five daily prayers but also perform other Nafl prayers standing in the middle of the night.
So a Mumin never misses his/her prayer and strictly guard obligatory prayers with optional prayers.
In Holy Quran, Allah Almighty says:
“Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours.” (Quran, 4:103)
4. A true believer remains steadfast in all calamities
"Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?
But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.""
(Qur'an 2,3 & 7)
Momin is such a believer who remains unshaken when confronted with adverse situation. He remains steadfast in all calamities and show gratitude to all Allah has granted him. Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) describes the virtues of Momin in the following words.
Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"How wonderful is the situation of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him. This does not apply to anyone but the believer".
5. A true believer is the one who say "we hear and obey"
Each and every action of Momin are in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
They are the ones which when they Ayah of Allah is read to them, they say "we hear and Obey" (Qur'an 2:256).
6. A true believer loves for the sake of Allah and hates for the sake of Allah
He loves others for the sake of Allah and hates others for the sake of Allah;
When Prophet, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, was asked to state one of the important entities of faith (Iman) Prophet, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said:
“To love him who loveth Allah, and hate him who hateth Allah.”
7. He achieves superior level of faith (Iman) to such an extent that satanic forces fail to work on him.
8. Momin has tremendous self control. He is chaste and pious, who abstains from all that was forbidden (lewdness and sexual impropriety).
Al-Mu'minun 23:5
And they who guard their private parts
9. They repent and remember Allah
Moreover, these are the ones who when they commit any act of obscenity, or wrong themselves with sin, they remember Allah, [to whom they are accountable,] and so seek forgiveness for their sins. For who is it that forgives sins but Allah? Nor do they persist in whatever wrong they have done when they know it is wrong.
(Qur'an 3:135)
10. Saying Salam
Salam not only represents saying Salaam to each other in normal life routine but, in fact, it is an indication towards a situation where an ignorant person tries to have a dispute with other Mumin over any matter.
The Mumin instead of showing anger or arguing with him/her, say salaam and move forward.
The believers are but a brotherhood. So make reconciliation between your brothers, and have [piety] of Allah that you may receive mercy.
(Qur'an 49:10)
