The road to change the state of Ummah
Time to wake up
And the question is
Why?
Why is this happening to the Ummah
Why is the Ummah in state that it is in?
Are we not Muslims?
Are we not Believers in Allah?
Are we not the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)?
Are we not the people of the Quran?
Ofcourse we are
Is not Allah on our side?
Then why?
Why is this happening?
Why such negativity? why such news that is always depressing?
Where is our honor and glory?
Where is the excel that once upon a time, the muslim Ummah had?
It is this question
That every single pious muslim
Every single intelligent and thinking and rational human being
Who believes in Allah and His messenger
Formulates in his mind
In one such Hadith
And listen to this Hadith,Oh muslims
And pounder over it
And memorise it
In one such Hadith
Narrated in the Musnad of Imam Ahmed
The prophet(SAW) said:
A time will soon come
A time will soon come
When the nation of this earth
Will vie and compete with one another
To come and attach you
A time will soon come
When other nations and groups
Will openly announce
They are going to come and attach you
And they will do so
Just like a person invites people to feast at his table
The prophet (SAW) told us this
At a time when the ummah was at his peak
At a time when such a vision could not have been even thought of
The sahabas could not even concieve of this at the madinan stage
How was it possible?
And so they said:
“Ya Rasulala” Oh messenger of Allah
Is it because we will be very few in number?
The companion could not visualise
A large Ummah
Being attacked by other nations
So the only thing that they could have think is
May be there are 5 muslims?
10 muslims?
Is it because we’ll be so few
That we have no weight?
No status?
The prophet(SAW) said:
“La” “No that’s not the case”
 It’s not because of a minority
It’s not because of a lack of numbers.No
He said:
“But Rather ,
“You will be like the foams of the oceans”
The foam of the ocean.
Quantity
And yet of No quality
How much are these white-froth when you look around you?
You cannot count them
Every waves has one
But what happen?
It comes and it goes
It doesn’t remain
It has no effect
It has no purpose
It serves no value
Plenty and quantity
But lacking in Quality
And he further explained and clarified
“And Allah (SWT)”
The prophet (SAW) speaking
“And Allah (SWT) will remove
From your enemy any fear of you
They won’t be scared of you anymore
They can do with you as they see fit and please.
And Allah will throw into your heart a weakness
You will afflicted with a weakness
They said “what is this weakness, Oh messenger of Allah”
He replied
“it is a love of this world
And hatred of death”
A love of this world
And the hatred of meeting Allah
And jumping onto the hereafter
And getting into Jannah
You will be so concerned wiyh this Dunya
You will forget the Akhira
Your Goal
Your Vision
Your whole circle of action
Will centre around tyhis world
What can I do for this Dunya?
And in the process, you will forget that there is a hereafter
There is a paradise
There is a meeting with Allah
There is a judgement
There is a resurection
All of this will be negleted
What we are currently facing is a fitna
What we are about to face is yet more fitnas
But Allah (SWT) inflicts us with fitna for a reason
There is a wisdom behind it
There is a
There is a Goal
And that Goal is very clearly mentioned in the Quran
Allah says in the Beginning of Surah tul’ Ankabut
Quran 29 “Alif lam mim” (1)
“Did mankind assume
Did you all think
That you would be left alone
Without being sent down fitnas?
Did mankind think that I wanted to see was they say ‘we believe’?
And no test would come down” (2)
NO
Of a surety
Of surity we tested the people before them
We sent down fitnas upon them
Why?
So that Allah could see
Allah could test
Allah could check
Who amongst those people was telling the truth when they said “we believe”.
And who amongst them was lying when they said “we believe” (3)
Do you think Allah only wants to see you say “I believe I’m a Muslim”?
Or there will be some test and trial as well!
This is what Allah is saying
There will be tests and trials
We will send down finals to separate the good from the bad
The prophet (SAW) told us:
As an evidence of this hadith
This hadith is in Bukhara
“A time will come
When knowledge will be lifted up
When the people will be ignorant
The Muslim will be ignorant
And when a lot of blood will be shed
Notice how the prophet (SAW) linked the shedding of Muslim blood
How he linked the spread of massacres
With the lifting up of knowledge
Knowledge will be lifted up
Blood will be shed
Meaning if there was knowledge
That wouldn’t have happened
So we need to fight against this
We need to fight against this ignorance through knowledge
Studying the Qur’an and Sunnahs
Understanding what does our religion require us to do?
Once we have studied all of these matters
We need to now start teaching and preaching
The purpose of the candle is not to burn itself
But to light the way for others
The purpose of the knowledge you have is not to keep it in your chest
But to spread it to other people
Every single one of us must become a call to Islam
To his circle of friends
And his family
And is acquit
Every one of you reading this is a representative of Islam
Whether you know it or not
And you must live up to that responsibility
Amongst your family
Amongst your children
Amongst your friend
Amongst your co-worker
You represent Islam
And you need to understand that
You need to live up to that responsibility
What you have studied
Practice it
Put it into action
Don’t just leave it in there
When Muslims
Start acting like Muslims
Islam will spread automatically
When Muslims live up to the ideals of their own religion
The Da’wah will be done by actions
And not by words
Let me ask you
Do any of these mentions that we should strap a bomb
Onto ourselves and work up to a market place and blow it up?
Do any of these points mentioned that we should go and kill innocent people,
When we have innocent people of our own killed?
Do any of these points mention that we should influence
 Terror as terror has been inflicted upon us?
None of them
And you see this is the point brothers and sisters
One of the primary causes why the enemies of Islam are so ganging up on us
Is that they have accused us of terrorism
And the strike at one place
One of these people who has been affected
Strike back
And the only prove the charge of terrorism
And so the strikes becomes harder
And then even more terrorist are formed
And the strike becomes even harder
You see this endless cycle of violence
This will not solve the problem
It will not solve the problem
Terrorism does not create anything
Except more injustice and terrorism
Islam does not want us to and kill innocent people
And think that we have done something for the sake of Islam
This is not the way we react to a fitna
Yes, a lot of injustice is being done
Yes, our blood is being shed
Yes, we are being discriminated against
But still
We act as Muslims
We act with wisdom
We act with honor
We act with mercy
Our religion teaches us these
Brothers and sisters
Let me conclude by merely stating one point
And that is
Many of us believe
That
What can I possibly do to solve the fitna?
How can I change the global situation of humanity?
What is the point of me doing anything?
As a response to this
And with this we will conclude
Take into account what’s happening globally
But your reactions has to be local
What can I do in my family?
In my society
In my circle of friends
That is what your reaction should be
And when you do this
You will save yourself
‘In Sha Allahu tahala’ from the fitna
You will pass the fitna
And when you do this
You will spread the beauty of Islam to others
And when all of do this
One individual, and another, and another
What will happen?
A wave of peace
A wave of Islam will begin to form
And that is what we want
We want people to recognize the real teaching of Islam
And if we all do this individually
One by One
Then and only then
We’ll be able to counteract the fitna
The current Ummah is facing
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam
Practice Islam to the best of your capabilities
In your own daily lives
That is all that Allah requires of you
That is all that you can do
And that is the best thing that you can do to
And that is the best thing that you can do
To counteract
All that is happening in the world
Suratul’ Ankabut verses 1 - 5
